BioPersonality: You could say that Murrue's personallity is roughly divided into two parts. On the one hand, we have got a Murrue who's very much of a soldier. She obediently follows orders without questioning them and is even ready to point her gun at children, if they witnessed a military secret. On the other hand, heavingly contradicting with her military existence, we have got Murrue as a human/woman. Personally, she dislikes keeping children as hostages, even if her side could gain a political advantage through this. She values every life of her crew and does pretty reckless things to save them. Being reckless is one of the outstanding points of her character, for example she orders her space-ship to do a barrel on earth when gravity is around. Murrue is aware when she does reckless decisions and is ready to accept the consequences and punishments which could follow.
However, in reallity, even if she takes on the leader-role, Murrue is pretty insecure, doubts herself a lot and doesn't see herself fit to be a captain.
Additionally, Murrue is in constant conflict with her realism and her idealism, but mostly her idealism gets the upper hand.
Murrue appears as a very friendly, polite person and smiles, even if she is sad, but she can also be very determined or angry. She is also not too fond of the fact that men are pretty interested in her body.
Murrue is a pretty strong person, this shows even if she lost loved ones, she is willingly to move on.
We never get to know why she actually joined the military, but it seems she just isn't dreamy enough to enjoy peace while she knows a war is going on around her.
Background:Murrue was a lieutnant in the EA, what has happened before in her life is a secret. The only things we can capture through her actions is that she has somehow a teacher-student-relationship with admiral Halberton, whose ideals she has taken in, and that she lost her lover due to the war and carries now a pendant in memory of him.
Murrue is involved into the war of Coordinators (genetically-manipulated humans) and Naturals (normal humans) and the building of the G/Gundams. During the attack by ZAFT/the Coordinators, Murrue rescues and is rescued by a Coordinator-boy called Kira Yamato, whom she unwillingly involves into the war and also meets the "Hawk of Endymion", Mwu La Flaga. She becomes the captain of the Archangel and leads it through the difficulties. During this time, Mwu and Murrue are constantly flirting with each other and she starts to fall in love with him.
After the event in Alaska, in which the EA was willing to sacrifice their own people for the benefit to have a huge victory, Murrue leads the desertion from the battlefield and seeks aid in the neutral country Orb. Seeing the problem that Orb is threatened to be member of the EA or be an enemy of the EA, Murrue decides to help them in their fight, but allows those, who don't want to help to leave her crew, since they're not in the army anymore. During this time, Mwu and Murrue officially become a couple.
Alongside the Eternal and the Kusanagi, Murrue and the Archangel are part of the 'Three Ships Alliance'. They try to end the war between Naturals and Coordinators by attacking both sides. In one of the battles, a member of the EA, attacks the Archangel and Mwu dies while protecting it.
As the war finally ended, we see that Murrue now is living in Orb, still thinking about Mwu.
